Charity Institution for Training and Rehabilitation of Workers Children with Intellectual disability (CITROWCID)

    Charity Institution for Training and Rehabilitation of Workers' Children with Intellectual Disability ,was established in 1997 with the objective of promoting

  the rehabilitation services for workers children with intellectual disability in an area of 12000 sq meters in Zafaranieh ,Tehran ,Iran.

    The center has three main departments:

  Training Unit

  Care Unit

  Clinic

    Training Unit for boys and girls :

  Children older than 14 years old , enter the vocational training courses after primary evaluations. There are many different classes in the center consisting of:

    -Carpet Weaving

  -Tailoring

  -Carving on Leather

  -Net Weaving

  -Knitting

  -Making Handicraft

    There are some non-vocational classes in training unit including :

  Painting ,Sport , Music, English classes and etc .

    The children pass the 3-5 years course and afterward they continue having relation with the center through the Social Working in order to keep their independence and also for evaluation of their problems in family ,workplace and society.

    Free of charge transportation services and also lunch have been provided for the children in this Unit who are coming to the center from marginal areas of Tehran.

    Those children with especial clinical needs are received Medical and Rehabilitation Services.

    In addition to the mentioned subjects ,recreational activities have been

  programmed for the children by Public Relations office such as visiting museum exhibitions, parks ,one day champing.

    Self –Employment Workshops:

  One of the most serious problems for the persons with disability is employment.

  after several years the center succeeded to establish workshop for the persons which assists them to have an independent professional job.

  Care Unit:

    Care Unit of the center provides 24 hours care services for the children younger than 14 years old ,

  The children in this unit .mostly are from the families with sever economic and family, problems who can not look after the child with disability.

  In these cases if the experts recognizes that the health of the child is in danger

  the child will be admitted in the Care Unit until the family can reorganize the situation .

  The children in the 24 hours care unit are received medical and rehabilitation

  Services as well.

    There some entertainment programs for them in the care unit such as music

  play room etc.
